Watch this happy dog slip and slide around the Verizon Center ice (Video)

Guys. I know it’s cool and all that last night the Caps set a new franchise record by beating the Yotes and that Ovi became the third player ever in NHL history to score 30 goals in each of his first twelve seasons, but something far more important happened.

There was a dog on the ice at Verizon Center.

According to CSN Mid-Atlantic, those lucky enough to be in Verizon Center before the game were treated to watching this beautiful golden retriever slip and slide around the ice as he played fetch with a police officer.

Still can't get enough of this pup? Here's some more just because… #GoodBoy

Just look at this cutie. He can’t get his feet under him on the ice and adorably stumbles around all over the place.

But wait! As soon as the police officer sends the puck soaring across the ice, the retriever seems to recover his magical doggo powers, running elegantly and powerfully across the ice that was once his enemy to get the puck.

Seriously, how beautiful is this dog?

It seems like there have been a lot of dogs in the Caps world lately. Yesterday, we watched as Alex Ovechkin played fetch with his black lab Blake. Last week, National Puppy Day blessed us all with an abundance of dog pictures, such as these posted by the NHL featuring Holtby and Ovechkin.

On Thursday, the Caps staff celebrated Puppy Day by bringing a lovable dog named Red to Verizon Center during the game against the Blue Jackets. Red was dressed in a Slapshot jersey and played his own little game of fetch.

Note that during Red’s fifteen seconds of fame, Wes Johnson encouraged people to adopt the dog… and Slapshot.

Hockey gods, please keep the cute dogs coming. We love them very much. Thanks, RMNB.
