Tampa police officer helps homeless man's dog, pays for veterinary bill

An officer with the Tampa Police Department is being hailed for his act of kindness after he helped a homeless man and his dog.

Vets4Pets, a charitable animal hospital, shared a photo of Karma, whose owner was panhandling to pay for the pup’s veterinary care.

Tampa Police Officer Bart Wester saw the man and his pet and decided to help.

“Instead of arresting the homeless man, Officer Wester put he and Karma in his police car and drove them to Vets4Pets,” the Vets4Pets Facebook post said.

According to the hospital, Wester paid for Karma’s veterinary bill.
