A loyal puppy has been waiting on a busy road where its owner reportedly died in an accident more than two months ago in China.
Video footage shows the dog hopelessly sitting in the middle of the road in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia.
When the person filming approaches the dog, as if to help, it runs away before returning back to the original spot.
China's Pear Video website said the dog has been waiting in the middle of the road for 80 days.
The animal's owner died in a car accident which happened in the area on 21 August, a taxi driver told the site.
He said: "Drivers often give the little dog bits of food, but when we get out, he goes away.
"This owner's relationship with her dog was very deep.
"After she was killed, this little dog has just stayed standing guard.
"Every day it's in the road, I always see it. The relationship between man and dog is so true."
Social media users have reacted to the moving clip.
One person commented: "So so sad. It's true what we say, pet dogs are man's best friend."
Another user said: "This little dog is so loyal. My family used to have a dog and every day it would wait for me by the village school."
