The summer of 2017 brought some crazy things, including several very strong hurricanes.

They hurricanes wreaked havoc in Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico, and everywhere in between. Millions of people were left without power, and thousands lost their homes and all of their belongings. Many even lost their lives. Now that the hurricanes have gone, people are trying to rebuild their lives. It’s a lot harder than most people would imagine.

Many areas are still flooded, were so badly damaged that rebuilding is not possible, or are without electricity.

People in some areas have nowhere else to go, so they are stuck in these awful conditions. They are just trying to survive and make it from day to day. Many struggle to find food and shelter. People are not the only ones suffering; pets are, as well.

There are many organizations who are working to help people during and after natural disasters, but very few are aimed at helping animals.

Singer Kenny Chesney decided it was up to him to help out the pets who were also victims of these hurricanes. He chartered a plane and loaded it up with over 100 dogs in the Virgin Islands. He then brought the dogs back to the United States and transported them to numerous shelters and rescues.

These rescues and shelters are able to give the pets food, shelter, and even medical attention.

They can then be adopted by loving families. If these pets were not rescued, they would have likely died trying to survive the devastation. Saving these dogs also helped make things a little easier for the people struggling, as well. Now they can focus on themselves and their lives and rest assured that the animals are being taken care of and loved.

Kenny Chesney wasn’t the only person who wanted to help pets after the hurricanes.

Another country music singer, Miranda Lambert, also helped rescue pets. Miranda is no stranger to pet rescues. She is a dog lover and she and her mother even founded their own rescue, MuttNation Foundation. Since Miranda is from Texas, her organization focused their efforts there.

She sent several teams to the area to find lost, abandoned, and even sick dogs.

The teams helped find their owners and also gave them the care they needed. The teams worked through horrible conditions and terrifying weather. There was the constant worry that another disaster could strike and put more pets and people in danger.

Still, the MuttNation Foundation was able to save over 70 dogs in Texas, even a mother and her 1-day-old puppies. The 70 dogs were transported to rescues and shelters. They will soon be adopted out to loving homes. However, Miranda decided she would give the newborn puppies and their mom a home herself.

It’s always nice to see people who are willing to help each other and animals.

When celebrities are able to make a difference, they motivate their fans and other celebrities to do the same. This helps get everyone involved and results in a lot more help for those in need.

People often forget about pets in times of tragedy and devastation, but animals need help, too. They don’t have a voice of their own, but they are going through many of the same things that people are going through in these situations. Hopefully, more people will put effort into helping not only the people who are suffering as a result of the recent hurricanes but the pets, as well.
